RARE AND UNUSUAL FIRST DAY COVERS GALLERY
Covers - GBFDC Official - Queries - Special Offers
Rare Covers - New Discoveries - First Series

This page features scans of rare British first day covers that the majority of collectors are unlikely to see, let alone purchase for their own collections. FDC collectors often ask: "Does such and such a cover exist, has anyone actually seen it?" Scans of some of these seldom seen covers will be shown here. Different covers will be featured every two months. Click on the covers to see the full size versions.

1963 Commonwealth Cable Standard Telephones and Cables Cover

This STC cover with a London WC FDI Envelope Slogan postmark is No.(4) in the Bradbury catalogue. It is of particular relevance to the COMPAC issue since STC were one of the main contractors for the project.

1965 CHURCHILL HOLMES TOLLEY COVER WITH BLADON FDI

Part of the interest of this seldom seen cover is that it is personally addressed to: The Private Secretary, His Grace The Duke of Marlborough, Blenheim Palace, Woodstock, Oxford. Churchill was buried at St. Martin's Church in nearby Bladon.
